Cisco Roleplay

Finally, Week 4 of Term-1 comes to an end .All in all the week was quite hectic . Things which aggravated Kolkata heat were Quiz in Organisational Behavior, test in Microeconomics, Financial Reporting’s complex assignments and to add to all this we had to do a roleplay on a case study based on Cisco’s ERP and web-IT implementation.

Since the beginning of the term we were informed of the roleplay and were told by the professor to go through the case. But our tight schedule coupled with procrastination made us delay any preparation. The day before the play we had Micro economics test which ended at 7:30 P.M. .Then at night we were given the script by Mr. Director . The long day left us listless and despite knowing that roleplay carried .45 credits we could not focus on reading the case or the script.

Most of us just skimmed through the case and the next day were very apprehensive of making a fool out of ourselves .The roleplay was post lunch , so during the morning classes some of us were editing the script to make our roles sound better , while some of us were ignoring Stats Gyan and writing new dialogues .By lunch time most of the things were settled .We did a mock test of the play duration and took a break for lunch .

Post break brought with it anxiety and fears of a chaotic scene, given the fact that we had never rehearsed .Then came IT Prof, who alleviated the situation by asking us to be in our groups and deliver dialogues by sitting in our respective places .Meanwhile, Mr . Director helped us get our copies of script , which had clear-cut sequence of dialogues .Play started off and as unexpected was quite much in order. It was a new avatar of play which we saw and did , but given the short preparation duration it was the best possible way out .The day ended and it was a great sigh of relief for having accomplished 15% of IT evaluation .

The IT drama ended with the Cisco case, but with each passing day and the increasing intensity of the course much more and bigger dramas await us. Let’s wait and watch :)
